Best intentions

-“Do you know why you are here, darling?”
-“Because of my grades?”
-“Yes, your father is very worried. Are you having trouble concentrate?”
Timidly. -“Yes.”
-“Your father said you used to celebrate grades.” -A long time ago. -“He said you studied even harder after... Do you want to talk about it?”
-“Not really.”
-“It's OK to miss her, you know?”
-“yes.” - A tear rolled down his face.
-“You don't have to go through this alone. You should let it out. What would you say to her if she were here?”
-”She is not!”
-“Let’s make believe, imagine she could hear you. What would you say?” - Time passed endlessly. -“You know what I think?” He shook is small recoiled head. -“I think you miss her terribly. I think you still wish her good night every night and I think that she answers back. I think it’s been 3 years and you don’t remember her face by heart anymore and it scares you. I think you shouldn’t feel guilty about it.”
He jumped on his feet, ran out the office and met these huge arms. -“I'm sorry dad. She is new at school, gorgeous, smart and funny and she understands me, I am so sorry. I will pay more attention at school daddy. I don’t want to forget mom, I don’t.”
-“It’s OK, she only wanted you happy. I am so happy you have a friend.” – Indiscriminately poured salt water merged within the long embrace.
